In the coming hours, the British government will hold a "Cobra meeting" to discuss the heat wave in the country, at a time when expectations indicate that the temperature may reach record levels at the beginning of next week.
The British "Sky News" website said that the Government's Emergency Response Committee, known as "COBRA", is scheduled to meet later on Saturday.
He explained that the "Cobra meeting", which will be chaired by Minister Kate Malthus, is the second to be held after the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) raised its heat warning from level three to level four, making it a national emergency.
A level 4 warning is issued "when a heat wave is so severe and/or prolonged that its effects extend beyond the health and social care system...At this level, illness and death may occur among healthy people, not just among those most at risk."
